Maxillaria variabilis red and yellow form
This species is found from Mexico to Panama. The plant produce more or less elongate shoots, that root mostly at the base, with closely set, Apically one leaved pseudobulbs. The flowers are produced from the cataphylls of the newly growing shoots and are variable in color, ranging from pure yellow to dark red. Flowering occurs throughout the year but most commonly during November to January. Intermediate conditions.
