Encyclia
A genus of 242 species distributed throughout tropical America. The genus is characterized by the presence of elongated or rounded pseudobulbs and neat foliage. Many are petite and ideal for indoors. Encyclia are sometimes fragrant and their main coloring is white to creamy white with red line lips. Most of the species can be accommodated under intermediate conditions with a few preferring cool conditions. They are usually cultivated similarly to members of Cattleya and do well on plaques.
