About ten species are known from northeast India and Nepal to Borneo, the Philippines and Taiwan. They carry many bright red, yellow and orange flowers. The plants are monopodial and compact, the leaves are linear, stiff and alternate. The species required bright light, warm temperature and prefer to be raised in a basket filled with osmunda fibers.
