Phalaenopsis gigantea


Native to Borneo. This plant can be found growing in the tops of trees with the roots sometimes reaching into moss. Require high humidity with a drier season usually towards the middle part of the winter. The plants has steeply tilted large leaves and flower in the summer; the plant can bloom from up to six months at a time. The colors vary from a yellow background with mahogany spots to a light, whitish pink with dark purple spots. Flowers are fragrant.
